Samantha Carlson joined the Augusta University Athletics Business Office in October 2016 as a student assistant after playing two seasons for the women’s basketball team from 2014-2016.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and growing up in Manalapan, N.J., Carlson assists Business Manager Karen Herrington and Accounting Assistant Karen Long in the main athletics office with the day-to-day operations.
Carlson transferred to Augusta from Brookdale Community College in Middletown, N.J., after the 2013-14 season. She received her associate degree in psychology from Brookdale in 2014 and she will graduated in December 2016 with a degree in kinesiology from Augusta University.
AS A SENIOR IN 2015-16: Ranked second on the team with 21 blocked shots and third with a 45.5 field-goal percentage … Competed in 31 games off the bench and totaled 25 points in 209 minutes … Grabbed 46 total rebounds to average 1.5 per game.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2014-15: Played in 15 games off the bench in her first season in the Peach Belt … Averaged 8.9 minutes per game … Scored 13 points and averaged 2.5 rebounds per game.
AT BROOKDALE JUNIOR COLLEGE: Started 30 of Brookdale's 31 games last season in 2013-14 and averaged 8.9 ppg, 7.8 rpg, and 3.1 bpg … Shot 44.6% from the field and 45.8% from the charity stripe … Scored in double figures 15 times last season to help Brookdale capture third place in the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament …Named to the All-Tournament Team and was a member of Brookdale's SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) during her run.
