Jaguars suffer tough setback vs. Kennesaw

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State surprised Augusta State on Wednesday night in a Peach Belt Conference game at Spec Landrum gymnasium.

Kennesaw, winless in six conference outings this season heading into the game, put together a strong shooting night to stop Augusta 70-64.

Kennesaw hit 49 percent of its shots from the field for the game, 52 percent in the second half.

Kennesaw improves to 5-11 overall while Augusta State drops to 11-6 and 6-2 in league play, one game behind USC Aiken in the North Division.

The Jaguars were led by Festus Hawkins with 18 points. T.J. Ott had 17.

Edderick Womack did it all for the winners. He led Kennesaw in scoring (20 points), rebounding (nine) and assists (three).
