Jaguars Make History

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State earned the highest ranking in school history Tuesday when the Jaguars moved up to No. 4 in the first NABC poll of the regular season, according to a release from the organization's headquarters in Kansas City, Mo.

Findlay and USC Aiken remained the top two teams in the poll. Findlay opened its season with wins over Indianapolis and Northwestern (Ohio), while the Pacers beat Wingate, then went 2-0 in the Mount Olive Pickle Classic last weekend.

Bentley – ranked third in the preseason – dropped two contests last week to fall out of the top 10 and allowed several teams to move up as a result. Florida Southern, ASU and Northern Kentucky all moved up one spot to make up the rest of the top five.

Central Oklahoma improved to No. 6, followed by Southwest Baptist – who already has a win at Utah and a victory over nationally-ranked Drury on its resume – Gannon, Grand Valley State and Minnesota State. Grand Valley State is the only newcomer to the top 10 as it moved up from No. 11.

The second 10 is headed by Central Washington and LIU-C.W. Post, then Bentley comes in at No. 13. Tarleton State and BYU-Hawaii round out the first 15 in the poll.
