ASU Stands Pat At No. 5

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Augusta State men's basketball squad maintained its spot in the national rankings on Tuesday, March 3, remaining at No. 5 in the 14th NABC poll of the regular season.

With the ranking, ASU has now appeared in the top 25 for a school-record 34 consecutive weeks, dating back to the 2006-07 campaign. The Jaguars have been ranked among the top 10 in the nation in 15 of the last 16 polls.

ASU posted a 2-0 record in the last week of the regular season and extended its winning streak to a season-high nine games. The Jags won 85-70 vs. Columbus State on Wednesday, Feb. 25 and rolled over Georgia Southwestern on Saturday, Feb. 28 in Americus, Ga.

ASU earned the highest ranking in school history on Tuesday, Dec. 9 when it moved up from No. 4 to No. 3 in the nation.

The Jags are the highest ranked of four PBC teams among the top 25. USC Aiken is ranked No. 17 while Armstrong Atlantic State and Georgia College & State are ranked No. 23 and No. 24, respectively.

Findlay, C.W. Post BYU-Hawaii and Southwest Baptist retained the top four spots in the poll.
