Augusta Men’s Hoops Fourth In First Region Rankings

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's basketball team is fourth in the first NCAA Southeast Region Rankings, which were released Wednesday afternoon.

 

Augusta is 20-6 overall, 12-5 in the Peach Belt Conference, and has a 17-6 in-region record. The top eight seeds make the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament.

 

Queens is first in the Southeast Region. The Royals are followed by Lincoln Memorial, Limestone, Augusta, UNC Pembroke, Pfeiffer, Wingate and Columbus State, USC Aiken, and Carson-Newman. The PBC makes up four of the teams on the list.

 

Head Coach Dip Metress and the Jaguars are riding a four-game win streak and host Lander University on Saturday, Feb. 18 for a 3:30 p.m. tipoff, following the Lady Jags. The PBC doubleheader is the 2017 Homecoming Celebration and Senior Day.
