AUGUSTA, Ga. -- After opening the season with consecutive second-place finishes, the 25th-ranked Augusta State men’s golf team heads to Macon, Ga., this weekend for the Brickyard Collegiate Championship.

Live scoring of the three-day, 54-hole event will be available at www.golfstat.com. The tournament format includes 18 holes of play on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Oct. 11-13.

Mercer University will serve as host of the tourney, which held its inaugural playing in the fall of 2007. The Brickyard at Riverside Golf Club (www.brickyardatriverside.org), which features a 7,128-yard, par-72 layout re-designed by Mark McCumber, will serve as the host venue.

The Jaguar lineup will include senior Janne Kaske, junior Jake Amos and sophomore Olle Bengtsson along with freshmen Brendan Gillins and Taylor Floyd. ASU will be paired with Virginia Tech and Hartford in the first round. Floyd, a Macon native, will lead the Jags out on the course at 9:20 a.m. Saturday morning, followed by Bengtsson at 9:30, Gillins at 9:40, Kaske at 9:50 and Amos at 10:00 a.m.

Sophomore Henrik Norlander, who leads the Jags in stroke average at 68.67, is not in the ASU lineup this weekend. He is representing his homeland of Sweden next week in the World Amateur Team Championships for the Eisenhower Trophy Oct. 16-19 at Royal Adelaide Golf Club in Adelaide, Australia.

The 15-team field includes ASU, Chattanooga, Clemson, Charlotte, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Hartford, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Oregon, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
