AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University men's cross country junior Daniel Broadhead has been named the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Broadhead won his second race in a row as he took the title at the Wingate Bulldog Stampede on Saturday. The junior from Jesup, Ga., covered the 10k course in 32:25.58, finishing six seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. The race was run on the same course and setup that the NCAA Regional will be held on in November and was the first 10k event for PBC teams this season.
Broadhead's efforts helped the Jaguars to the team title, edging out Mount Olive and host Wingate. This is his second straight PBC Runner of the Week award. Broadhead took first overall at the Bulldog Stampede and the Jaguar XC Invitational and he finished eighth in the season-opening race at the Eye Opener Invitational.
