AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University softball team returns 12 players and has six new signees for the 2017 spring season that begins in February at Jaguar Field.

Head Coach Melissa Brocato's squad features two seniors in Brianna Dickens and Kristen Mills. Juniors Ashley Boyd, Auburn Balcorta, Kendyl Conner, Carolyn Edwards, Erin Rozier, and Lindsey Stokes, will be back on the diamond. Also returning is sophomores Lydia Hausman, Emily Hittinger, Alex Head and Alexis Schlein.
The Jaguars signed freshman pitcher Courtney Browne and catcher Aly Leblanc in the National Letter of Intent (NLI) early signing period in November 2015 and they also picked up junior-transfer Marni Greenstein in summer 2016.
Augusta returns from the 2016 season where the ranked second in sacrifice hits and fourth in earned run average in the Peach Belt Conference. The team went 11-7 at home on Jaguar Field last year.
The 2017 season begins February 4-5 with back-to-back home dates on Jaguar Field.
