AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State head women's basketball coach Greg Wilson announced Wednesday the signing of a pair of in-state standouts to national letters-of-intent to play for the Lady Jaguars beginning in the fall of 2005.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A furious scoring frenzy in the final two minutes Thursday by Columbus State derailed an upset-minded Augusta State Lady Jaguar squad, as the Lady Cougars, the second seed from the Peach Belt South Division, defeated Augusta State, the North's No. 3 seed, 65-61 in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Tournament at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Ronnie Dennis hit a short jumper with 3.3 seconds remaining to lift Georgia College & State University to a thrilling 69-68 victory over visiting Augusta State University Saturday night in the Centennial Center. GC&SU swept the Peach Belt Conference doubleheader as Lady Bobcat freshman Ashley Williams scored a career high 19 points to lead the home team to a 74-59 victory over ASU in the opener.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State junior point guard Karim Telfer poured in a career-high 30 points to lead the Jaguars to an 83-70 victory over eighth-ranked USC Upstate Wednesday night in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The victory is the third for ASU against a nationally-ranked opponent in 2005.

GREENWOOD – Jacquay White scored 16 points and had four key points and a steal in the final two minutes to help the Lander women’s basketball team hold off Augusta State 71-66 Wednesday night in a Peach Belt Conference game at Horne Arena. The Lady Bearcats improved to 8-9 overall and 3-4 in the Peach Belt. Augusta State fell to 9-9, 3-4.

ASU's Vodrazkova Leads NCAA Division II in Free-Throw Shooting
AUGUSTA, GA -- With only 10 games left in the regular season, several Peach Belt Conference men’s and women’s basketball teams continue to earn high rankings in the latest NCAA Division II national statistics, which were released on Tuesday. Three PBC basketball players have climbed into the top spot in three statistical categories. The NCAA only ranks players in nine.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Lander knocked off Augusta State 72-55 Wednesday night, salvaging a split of the Peach Belt Conference doubleheader and snapping a seven-game losing streak at the hands of the Jaguars. In the opener, ASU held the Lady Bearcats to just 32.1 percent shooting and got 19 points from junior forward Eva Vodrazkova in a 58-49 victory.

The AASU women scored a 55-51 victory over the Lady Jaguars in the first game of the day.
