Men’s & Women’s Tennis Ranked Ninth In First Regional Rankings Of 2016-17 Season

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's and women's tennis teams are each ranked ninth in the first regional rankings of the 2016-17 season from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

 

Jags sophomore Patrick Oliveira is ranked No. 3 individually and sophomore Joao Ferreira sits No. 14 in the 20 top players in the region.

 

The men's team is one of nine schools from the Peach Bet Conference in the NCAA Southeast Region top 10 and the women's side had eight PBC squads ranked.

 

The Lady Jags begin the 2017 campaign on Wednesday, February 1 at home in Newman Tennis Center against Clark Atlanta at 1:00 p.m.

 

The Augusta men's team opens the 2017 season on Friday, Feb. 3 at Erskine College in Due West, S.C., for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference match.
