Cross Country To Host PBC Championships Nov. 8

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The GRU Augusta men's and women's cross country teams will host the 2014 Peach Belt Conference Championships this Saturday, Nov. 8 at Fort Gordon Military Base on Barton Field, the site of the 2014 Jaguar Invitational on Sept. 20.

The men will run an 8K at 9:00 a.m. and the women are slated for a 6K at 9:45 a.m. The Fort Gordon Turkey Trot, open to the community, will take place at the conclusion of the women's race and a joint awards ceremony while be held at the outdoor pavilion on Barton Field.

The Jaguar men are currently ranked seventh in the NCAA Southeast Region, while the women are eighth in the southeast as of Nov. 3. The women have finished in the top 10 in all four of their regular season meets this season, while the men finished three of their four races in the top 10. Last year the men won the conference championships on Oct. 26 in Americus, Ga., while the women placed sixth.
