Augusta Falls To USC Aiken In Game Two Of Series

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team fell 15-1 to the USC Aiken Pacers on Saturday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium in game two of the PBC series.



Augusta (11-26, 7-19 PBC) was led by junior Devin Bilardello who went 3-for-4 with a run and freshman Mason Robertson, who carded two hits on the day. The Jaguars totaled six hits, but the Pacers (23-13, 14-6 PBC) posted 20 in the game.


AU allowed a solo homer in the first inning, but evened the game in their first at bat when junior Zack Goble scored junior Devin Bilardello with an opposite-field groundball. The Pacers put up nine in the second inning, highlighted by a grand slam, and went on to win big.


Augusta freshman Jay Pendley (5-3) gave up five hits and allowed 10 runs, but only six were earned. Seniors David Hagelston and Aron Chick pitched for AU in relief.


The series ends on Sunday, April 8 when the Jaguars host USCA for a 1:00 p.m. PBC game.
