Augusta Takes Care Of Paine College In 19-10 Win

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team won a 19-10 non-conference game over the Paine College Lions on Wednesday afternoon at Jaguar Field.  


Augusta is now 12-10 on the season and Paine went to 3-10-1 on the year


Paine scored the first run of the day, but Augusta battled through the first few innings and blew it open with 17 total hits to win by nine.


Augusta senior Chase Slone (1-2) tossed 5.2 inning after reliving starter Tripp Church. Slone got the win and allowed five hits for two runs while striking out nine.


Sophomores Trent Maddox and Mason Robertson, freshman Beau Hanna and Ben Markiewicz, and senior Harrison Moore all had a pair of hits for Augusta. Senior Patrick Watson hit a grand slam for AU.


The Jags return to Peach Belt Conference play March 15-17 when they host Flagler College at Jaguar Field in Augusta, Ga. Game one is set for Friday at 2:00 p.m. and game two on Saturday and three on Sunday each start at 1:00 p.m.
