Augusta (14-10, 10-7 PBC) tied the game at 76-all with 24 seconds left in regulation on junior Keshun Sherrill's free throw. After FMU (15-10, 7-9 PBC) called a 30 second timeout, Sherrill missed the second from the charity stripe as the game extended to overtime.

FMU hit a three and jags junior Keith Crump answered from beyond the arc with a trey ball. The Jags trailed 82-80 with 1:28 to go when freshman Tyvez Monroe hit a clutch three pointer to steal the advantage as Augusta held on for an 84-82 victory.

Senior Tommy Williams scored his career high and led all players with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Sherrill had 24 points, eight boards, and three assists, and sophomore Tamyrik Fields scored 11 and freshman Tyvez Monroe 10.

It was a game of opposites on offense as FMU hit 12 three pointers and the Jags only five, but Augusta won the rebound game 42-39 and outscored the Patriots 38-20 in the paint. The Jags recorded a 41.2 field-goal percentage to FMU's 37.9 percent. The game had 16 lead changes and 10 ties.

The Jags beat Francis Marion the last time out on Jan. 4, 2016 at home in Christenberry Fieldhouse with a one-point victory, 75-74, that came down to the final second.

Sherrill sunk the opening shot of the game to net a three pointer for the first lead to Augusta and he capped a layup at the 16:24 mark for a 5-0 score. The Jaguars stayed ahead until under five minutes when FMU tied the contest 24-all on an Alante Fenner free throw and took the score on a Detrek Browning layup.

Sherrill hit three free throws under a minute to tie the game back and an eight-second layup from him gave the Jags the halftime advantage.

At the half the Jags held a 39-37 lead with senior Tommy Williams and junior Keshun Sherrill each in double-figure points at the midway break.

The lead was Augusta's for the first 11 minutes of the second half, but Browning canned a pair at the charity stripe to take a 59-58 lead for the Patriots.

Out of offensive substitution change for the Jags, T. Williams threw down a dunk around the five minute mark and then hit a layup at 4:15 for a 68-64 Augusta lead. Williams bodied out FMU in the paint and put back a missed a three pointer for another bucket.

The Pats buried a trey from Mike Davis Jr., to bring them within one and took a 72-71 lead on a dunk with 1:50 to go. The game remained tied after the Jags missed a go-ahead free throw with 14 seconds left, but they survived in OT for the win.

The Jags head to Lander on Saturday, Feb. 20 to take on the Bearcats at 3:30 p.m. in Greenwood, S.C.
