AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University head men's basketball coach Dip Metress announced his first signee of the April national letter of intent (NLI) early signing period with incoming freshman guard Darren Lucas-White from Capitol Heights, Maryland.
Name: Darren Lucas-White

"Darren is a winner who makes winning plays," Metress said. "He won a state championship as a junior and lost in the state championship as a senior. We needed some juice and quickness in the backcourt and we addressed that with the addition of Darren."
A first team All-State selection, Lucas White was born in Washington, D.C., but grew up in Capitol Heights, Md. He lettered in basketball at Fairmont Heights High School where he helped guide his squad to a 2017 state championship, while finishing runner up as a senior in 2018.
