Jags 12th In The Hootie

AWENDAW, S.C. -- Augusta State junior Mitch Krywulycz posted a one-over 72 to lead the Jaguars during the first day of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate at wind-swept Bulls Bay Golf Club.

Third-ranked ASU posted a team total of 302 (+18) and is 14 shots back of leader LSU. Duke and Wake Forest are tied for second, a stroke out of the lead, while Auburn and North Carolina State are tied for fourth and four shots off the pace.

The Jags' Krywulycz is tied for ninth while sophomore Patrick Reed (73) is tied for 17th. Junior Carter Newman (78) is tied for 52nd and Henrik Norlander (79) and Taylor Floyd (79) are both tied for 59th.

N.C. State's Matt Hill opened with a three-under 68 and is a stroke in front of Wake Forest's Travis Wadkins and LSU's Sang Yi. Duke's Spencer Anderson, Clemson's Jacob Burger and Auburn's Will McCurdy all posted one-under 70's and are tied for fourth.

The Jags will be paired with Chattanooga and East Tennessee State in Monday's second round. Floyd will lead off for ASU on the back nine beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by Norlander at 9:10, Newman at 9:20, Reed at 9:30 and Krywulycz at 9:40.
