FLORENCE, S.C. - The Augusta University men's tennis team earned the seventh seed in the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Tournament and will meet second-seeded USC Aiken in the quarterfinal match on Friday, April 19 at 9:00 a.m. The event is being hosted by Francis Marion University at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center in Florence, S.C., for the seventh straight season.
This is the 26th appearance all time for the Jaguars in the conference tournament. Augusta meets USC Aiken for the second time this season, after falling to the Pacers in the regular season. The two teams have not met at the PBC Tournament since 2008.
Ranked No. 39 in the nation, the Jaguars recorded a 9-8 overall record and finished PBC play with a 3-6 mark. All eight men's tennis teams competing in the tournament are nationally ranked in the top 50 including No. 2 Columbus State, No. 3 Flagler, No. 7 Lander, No. 8 USC Aiken, No. 11 North Georgia, No. 24 Georgia College, No. 31 Francis Marion, and the No. 39 Augusta Jaguars.
Defending national champion, Columbus State, earned the top seed, USC Aiken second, Flagler third, Lander fourth, North Georgia fifth, Georgia College sixth, Augusta seventh, and FMU eighth.
