Augusta Cross Country Hosts PBC Championships Nov. 3

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. – The Augusta University women's and men's cross country teams host the 2018 Peach Belt Conference championships on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site in Beech Island, S.C.




The men will run an 8K at 9:00 a.m. followed by the women's 5K at 10:15 a.m. Admission to the event is $5 per car and all PBC students with a valid student ID are admitted free. On Friday, Nov. 2 on the eve of the race, the Jaguars will host the PBC Championship Banquet beginning at 5:00 p.m. inside Lee Auditorium on the AU Health Sciences Campus.

Augusta already raced at Redcliffe this season for the Jaguar Cross Country Invitational Sept. 22. The Jaguar men's team won first place, while the women grabbed third.


Ranked fourth in the NCAA Southeast Region, the Augusta men have finished top three in all four regular-season events this season, including back-to-back victories at the home meet and at the North Georgia Invitational. Seated 10th in the NCAA Southeast Region, Augusta's women's squad has been seventh or better so far this year, with the third-place showing at home being the best mark.
