Augusta Softball Signs Browne & Leblanc For 2017

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University softball team signed freshmen Courtney Browne and Aly Leblanc in the National Letter of Intent (NLI) early signing period, Head Coach Melissa Brocato announced in Novmber 2015.

"We are so excited to have these young ladies joining us next fall," Head Coach Melissa Brocato said. "When they visited, they were natural fits for our program. Both bring strong academic and athletic performances to the team. We have high hopes for them and what they will bring to the Jaguars both on the field and off."

Courtney Browne is a right-handed pitcher from Aurora, Colo.  Browne will graduate from Grandview High School in Aurora, Colo., in 2016 where she has lettered in softball every year. During her time on the mound, Browne was named first team All-Conference and All-City for all four years.

She was named the 2015 MVP of the Centennial League and was selected to 2015 All-State team after her squad was crowned the Elite Eight State Champions that same year. In 2014, Browne was a state champion and a Centennial League champion and in 2012 her team won the Elite Eight State Championships. Browned was a first-team All-Academic selection all four years and she played club ball for the Colorado Angels under Coach John Waller.

Aly LeBlanc is a 5-9 catcher from Madison, Maine. LeBlanc will graduate from Madison Area Memorial High School in 2016. A multi-year letterwinner for softball, LeBlanc also lettered in soccer, basketball, and cross country. As a junior in 2015, LeBlanc was named the Maine All-State Catcher and the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year, while making the All-Star team her first three years.

Her sophomore season, LeBlanc was named second team Mountain Valley All-Conference and she was an All-Conference honorable mention as a freshman. Madison Area Memorial HS won the Western Maine Class C Championships and the Mountain Valley Conference Championships and were runner ups during her time.
