AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's basketball team hosted a Peach Belt Conference game against the Francis Marion Patriots on Wednesday night and lost 91-70 in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta (6-19, 5-14 PBC)
Francis Marion (10-13, 7-12 PBC)
Freshman Kiera Howard hit 10 field goals and totaled a game-high 25 points – the most of her young Augusta career. Jaguar junior Cameryn Wilson contributed 15 points, six rebounds, and a pair of steals, while freshman Jaelyn Autman gave AU seven points and five boards. Named to the PBC All-Academic team earlier today, senior Mallory Myers added six points and a rebound and assist.
AU struggled from the three-point line and went 3-for-14 (21.4 percent), but outscored the Patriots 21-9 off turnovers. FMU flew ahead 27-15 after the opening 10 minutes and outscored Augusta 21-20 in the second period to lead 48-35 at halftime.
