Augusta Women’s Golf Starts 2016 Season At UCF Challenge Feb. 7-9

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Augusta University women's golf team starts their 2016 campaign at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Fla., from Feb. 7-9 at the Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Hosted by the University of Central Florida, the UCF Challenge features Augusta, Campbell, Daytona State, ECU, Houston, Iowa State, Kentucky, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Florida, Texas, Tulane, Vanderbilt, and Western Carolina. 

 

The Jaguars tee off Sunday starting at 10:09 a.m. off No. 10 in a shotgun format for 54-holes of play.

In the fall portion of their schedule, Augusta finished seventh at the Minnesota Invitational, ninth at the Mason Rudolph Championship, and took fourth at the Palmetto to secure three top-10 finishes.

The 2016 UCF Challenge will be the fifth time in the least six seasons that the Jaguars have competed in the event. Augusta shot a 5-over 869 to take fifth place in their last appearance on Feb. 11, 2014.

The Jags travel to the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, hosted by Purdue, Feb. 14-16 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. 

Augusta hosts the ninth-annual 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate at Forest Hills Golf Club on March 11-13 in Augusta, Ga. The Jags keep it in Georgia for two-straight weekends with a trip to Kennesaw State's home event, the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate at the Pine Tree Country Club on March 28-29 in Kennesaw, Ga.

Augusta competes at the Clemson Invitational, hosted by the Tigers April 1-3 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, S.C. The team concludes the regular-season schedule at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational in Columbus, Ohio on April 16-17.

The NCAA Division I Regional is set for May 5-7, 2016 and will be held at four different sites. The 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships will be hosted by the University of Oregon at Eugene Country Club on March 20-25.
