GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Augusta University women's cross country team finished sixth at the sixth annual North Georgia Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning with junior McKenzie Knudsen taking eighth overall to pace the Jaguars.
North Georgia won the 6K race on their home course and Anderson took second, Columbus State third, North Greenville fourth, and UNC Pembroke finished fifth just ahead of the Jags in the 14-team field.
While battling minor injuries and with a limited squad, Augusta got its first look of the season at the regional course as the Nighthawks also host the 2018 NCAA Southeast Regional as well on Saturday, Nov. 17. Knudsen took eighth for AU in 23:59.80 and Helen Rendich finished in 25:38.57 for 31st. Miranda Taylor crossed in 45th, Rachel Hammesfahr in 49th and Macy Hayes 95th.
The Jaguars head to Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga., for the Bobcat Invitational Saturday, Oct. 20. The women race a 6K and the men an 8K.
