Completed in 2025, the renovation of Christenberry Fieldhouse transformed Augusta University’s home arena into one of the premier NCAA Division II venues in the nation.
The exterior now features a sleek, modern design that proudly displays the Augusta Athletics “Jag Head” logo and incorporates the university’s branded colors, giving fans and visitors an unmistakable sense of Jaguar pride.
Inside, the mezzanine levels have been reimagined with expanded donor and hospitality spaces, creating a first-class gameday environment and offering versatile areas for special events throughout the year.
The arena itself has been enhanced with a new sound system, upgraded lighting, and the addition of the Alvin and Yvette Harris Sports Performance Center. This state-of-the-art training facility equips student-athletes with the latest strength, conditioning, and injury-prevention resources to maximize performance.
Blending tradition with innovation, Christenberry Fieldhouse now stands as a modern hub for competition, training, and fan engagement — ensuring Jaguar Nation experiences one of the finest environments in NCAA Division II athletics.
Christenberry Fieldhouse boasts a proud history. In July 2013, Praters Incorporated of Chattanooga, Tenn., was contracted to sand the entire arena floor to bare wood before having it cleaned, stained, repainted and then stained again in preparation for redesign.
The university’s branding initiative for Athletics was a critical element in the process. The revamped “Jaguar Head” logo – displayed at center court in the Jags’ new color scheme of navy blue and silver/grey – serves as the anchor of the floor redesign. The secondary word marks “Jaguars” and “Augusta” are prominent on the baselines and sidelines, respectively.
CFH, which opened in 1991, is home to the Augusta volleyball, women’s basketball and men’s basketball programs and houses offices for 15 of the Jags’ 17 sports. All administrative and support staff personnel for the Augusta University Department of Athletics, as well as the College of Education’s Kinesiology & Health Science department, are also based in the CFH.
