OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill.
-- Augusta State posted a 6-over 286 Saturday and is tied
for second through two rounds of the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini
Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club.
With rounds of 280 and 286, the No. 2 Jaguars share second place
with top-ranked Oklahoma State and are six shots back of Florida.
Alabama is fourth, eight shots off the pace, while Duke rounds out
the top five at 10-over 570.
Senior Mitch Krywulycz leads the Jags with a tie for sixth at
1-under 139 following a second-round 71. Senior Henrik Norlander is
tied for 12th at 1-over 141 (70-71) while junior Patrick Reed
managed ASU's low round of the day -- an even-par 70 -- and
is tied for 16th at 2-over 142.
Carter Newman (23rd) and Taylor Floyd (70th) signed for a pair of
4-over 74's.
Oklahoma State's Peter Uihlein fired a 5-under 65 after
opening with a 69 Thursday to take a two-stroke lead over
Alabama's Bud Cauley.
ASU will be paired with Florida and Oklahoma State in
Sunday's third and final round. Floyd will lead off for the
Jags at 10:20 a.m. EDT, followed by Newman at 10:28, Reed at 10:36
and Norlander at 10:44 with Krywulycz anchoring the lineup at
10:52.Jaguar head coach Josh Gregory did not accompany the team due
to the birth of his son -- James Baxley Gregory -- on Monday, Sept.
13. ASU women's head coach Kevin McPherson is serving in
Gregory's place.
