CHARLOTTE, NC - The Augusta University women's basketball team won defeated Johnson C. Smith on the road 63-39 on the road Saturday evening. Augusta improves to 3-1 for the season. The Golden Bulls are now 2-2.

Senior
Zairya West had a breakout game, scoring 16 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. West was 4-for-5 from the three point line and 6-for-10 from the field.
Kennedi Manning was perfect from field goal range, scoring 10 points.
Jaelyn Autman led the Jaguar rebounding effort with 7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU never trailed in the contest, but the score remained within 2 or 3 points during the first half. A made fast break 3-point basket by
Zairya West with 43 seconds left in the first quarter put the visiting squad up 18-15. A layup by
Michaela Lane and two 3-pointers by
Zairya West and
Autumn Phillips gave Augusta its first double-digit lead with 6:58 left in the first half.
After going to the locker room up 32-16 after the half, the Jaguars were able to extend the lead to as many as 30 points with 1:27 left in the game.
Augusta was 24-for-55 (43.6%) from the field and 6-for-11 (54.5%) from the three-point line. Augusta was able to force 13 turnovers and scored 31 points off of those turnovers.
The Broncos were led by led by Jalen Seegar's 25 points and Darian Dixon's 24 points.

rd at 7:30pm for their first home game of the season against Benedict.
