Scottsdale, AZ. – The Augusta University Men's Golf team finished The Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Sunday, placing 14
th. After three rounds of play, the Jags shot a 295 in the first round, a 282 in the second, and a 288 in the third for a combined total of 865 (+25) on the par 70 course at Mirabel Golf Club.
The 14-team field featured a range of top 25 teams in the country. Teams included Arizona, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Louisville.
Georgia Tech finished the tournament in first place (-44), defeating Clemson by only one stroke (-43). Auburn finished third (-31), San Diego State finished fourth (-30), and Louisville finished fifth (-26). Washington, Arizona, Oregon, and Utah placed 6-9, while Alabama and New Mexico tied for 10
th to round out the top 10.
Gareth Steyn led the Jaguars, shooting a team-low Round 2 score of 68, and a team-low Round 3 score of 69. He finished in a tie for 46
th (-1).

Augusta Men's Golf will travel to Chattanooga, TN for their next tournament. The squad will play in The Honors Course Intercollegiate Sept. 20-21.
