AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's basketball team downed the visiting Erskine College Flying Fleet 74-39 for their first home victory. Augusta moves to 6-4 for the season while Erskine falls to 2-7. The Jaguars open Peach Belt Conference competition this Wednesday, Jan. 3 when they travel to USC Beaufort.

AU got off to a blistering start, outscoring Erskine 21-6 in the first quarter. Augusta held the visiting Flying Fleet to just two field goals in the first period. The Jags were dominant in the paint, outscoring Erskine 44-18.
After creating a comfortable lead, a layup and block from
Tomiyah Alford sent Augusta to the locker room at halftime with a 40-17 lead. The Jags went into the final 10 minutes of the game with a comfortable 53-27 lead. Augusta went 5-for-6 from the field in the fourth quarter to seal the 74-39 victory.
Senior
Kennedi Manning led the contest with 14 points and six rebounds.
Je'Bria Fullwood added 13 points, three steals, and an assist.
Mone Florence carded 11 points and dished a game-high five assists. Seeing some of her first action of the year,
Brianna Meekins added 8 points and 3 rebounds to the stat sheet while
Nyaneit Puok scored seven points for the Jaguars.
