FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Augusta Women's tennis team edged Emmanuel 4-3 in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon. Augusta is now 3-1 for the 2023 season.
Augusta got off to a solid start with a pair of wins in doubles to secure the team point.
Madeline Frediani and
Priscilla Landi defeated their opponents 6-2 at the No. 1 doubles spot before
Carlota Costa and
Juliana Martinez won a hard-fought battle 7-5 at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Frediani defeated Alejandra Guerrero 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles. After dropping the No, 2m 3, and 4 singles matches, Landi righted he ship with a three-set 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 victory.
Carlota Costa capped the day with a three-set victory of her own.
Augusta will host Francis Marion tomorrow Feb 19 at 12:00pm. All matches will be played at Petersburg Racket Club.
