AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's team won a hard fought 4-3 match against the Young Harris Mountain Lions at the Newman Tennis Center in the team's last regular season outing.
Augusta is now 10-12 overall, 2-5 in conference play, while Young Harris falls to 9-13, 1-6 PBC.
In doubles,
Carlota Costa and
Silvana Figueroa took the only Augusta win with a 6-4 victory.
Priscilla Landi nabbed a 6-1, 6-3 win over Meghan Mallath at the No. 4 singles spot before
Silvana Figueroa garnered another AU point with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 5 slot.
Carlota Costa secured another Jaguar point at No. 6 with a 7-5, 6-2 win over her opponent. Augusta would drop the next two single points before
Madeline Frediani clinched the team win with a 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 marathon match.
Augusta awaits seeding for the PBC Tournament April 21-23. The tournament will be played in Columbus, Ga at the Walden Tennis Center and will be hosted by Columbus State University.
