Scottsdale, AZ. – After the first 18 holes of play in the 2023 NCAA National Championships, Augusta women's golf sits in a tie for 20th place after carding a 296 (+8) at the par-72, 6,368-yard Grayhawk Golf Club course.
Kennedy Carroll led the way for Augusta in the first round, shooting an even-par 72. The sophomore had four birdies to finish the day tied for 38th.
WGCA Freshman of the Year Finalist Mirabel Ting and fellow freshman Victoria Zheng turned in identical Round 1 scores of 73 (+1). The freshman duo is tied for 57th.
Daniela Burgos shot 78 (+6) to finish the day tied for 141st while Napabhach Boon-In shot 79 (+7).
The Jaguar are currently just three shots out of 15th place, with the top 15 teams after three rounds advancing to match play. The Jaguars return to the course Saturday afternoon, teeing off of hole #1 at 1:20 p.m. PDT (4:20 p.m. eastern). Live scoring can be found on GolfStat.com
