AUGUSTA, Ga. – Christenberry Fieldhouse, home of Augusta University Athletics, will soon undergo a series of upgrades that will profoundly enhance the fan experience and equip one of the premiere DII venues in the country with state-of-the-art amenities.
 
The exterior of the Christenberry Fieldhouse will undergo a full transformation for the first time since it opened its doors in 1991. The modern design will prominently display the Augusta Athletics 'Jag Head' logo and feature installations that highlight Augusta's branded color palate.
 
The mezzanines in the Fieldhouse will be reimagined. There will be expanded donor space in the venue that will provide a world-class gameday experience and allow for additional opportunities for special events on non-gamedays.

The inside of the arena will also experience significant improvements, while maintaining the history and integrity of the Fieldhouse, with the addition of the Harris Sports Performance Center, an improved new sound system, and additional lighting.
 
The Alvin and Yvette Harris Sports Performance Center – named for the big-hearted couple who are longtime university supporters – will be constructed in the upper mezzanine on the south side of Christenberry Fieldhouse.  The Harris Sports Performance Center will be equipped with essential fitness machines, free weights, and other tools to help student-athletes boost strength and enhance performance, while also providing appropriate training and conditioning to help prevent injuries.
 
"The exterior renovations to Christenberry Fieldhouse will elevate our arena to rival some of the best in the NCAA DII landscape," said Director of Athletics Ryan Erlacher. "We wanted an impressive, modern, and sleek design that would not only welcome in our students, fans, and supporters, but also create a more exciting atmosphere during gamedays. The much-needed refresh will provide students with a top-quality experience while participating in events on the Forest Hills Campus."
