GREENWOOD, SC- The Augusta women's basketball team defeated Lander, 71-54, to improve their record to 18-7 overall and 12-3 in conference play on Wednesday night. Augusta will head to North Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 24. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.

The Lady Jaguars jumped out to a commanding lead in the first quarter going up 12-4. Tomiyah Alford led the Jaguars to a 19-8 lead as the quarter closed.
Lander woke up in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 27-23. Fortunately, the Jaguars scored a quick two and Autumn Phillips knocked down a big three-pointer to extend the lead to 32-23 going into the break.
The Jaguars poured it on in the second half extending their lead to 24 points and were able to finish it out, avenging their home loss to Lander this year.
Augusta was led by Tomiyah Alford with 18 points and nine rebounds. Kennedi Manning and Autumn Phillips added ten points each. Manning also had eight rebounds.
