AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team earned a gritty 4-3 victory over Lander University in Peach Belt Conference action on Tuesday at the Newman Tennis Center. The win pushes Augusta to 13-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

Lander claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Andrea Gonzalez and Juliana Martinez dropped a 3-6 match at No. 1, while Camila Taborga and Giovanna Patrocinio fell 5-7 at No. 3. The No. 2 doubles match featuring Julieta Palma and Priscilla Landi was left unfinished, tied at 5-5.

Despite the early deficit, Augusta responded with strong play in singles, winning four of six matches. Luciana Bejarano delivered a comeback win at No. 3, prevailing 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Landi held a 7-5, 5-4 lead at No. 4 when the match was clinched. Taborga turned around her match at No. 5 for a 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 win, and Patrocinio followed suit with a 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

Lander picked up wins at the top two singles positions. Gonzalez fell 4-6, 3-6 at No. 1, and Martinez was defeated 2-6, 3-6 at No. 2.

The Jaguars now have an extended break, traveling to p[lay Flagler April 17 before competing in the PBC Championships in Columbus, GA
