COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 36 Augusta University men's tennis team saw its 2024-25 season come to a close on Friday morning, falling 4-0 to No. 19 North Georgia in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals at the John W. Walden Tennis Center. The Jaguars finished the season with a 12-8 overall record.

Augusta opened the match with a strong showing in doubles, as Alexis Bailhache and Enzo Garutti posted a 6-2 win at No. 1. However, North Georgia rallied to take the doubles point after wins at No. 2 and No. 3.

In singles play, Augusta fought hard but was unable to gain traction as North Georgia claimed victories at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 singles to clinch the match. Bailhache fell 2-6, 3-6 at No. 1, Enzo Sakiyama dropped a tight match 6-7, 2-6 at No. 5, and Humberto Pinto was defeated 4-6, 3-6 at No. 6.

Three matches went unfinished but showcased Augusta's continued fight. Garutti was tied at a set apiece and trailing 0-1 in the third at No. 2. Arthur Valette had split sets and was early in the third at No. 3, while David Perret was in the middle of a competitive match at No. 4.

The Jaguars close out the 2024-25 season with a 12-8 overall record and a No. 36 national ranking, highlighted by non-conference wins over Palm Beach Atlantic, Montevallo, and two victories over Division I The Citadel. Despite a tough PBC slate, Augusta's development over the year earned them a top 50 national ranking.
