Augusta, GA – Augusta University Athletics has announced a new wave of enhancements to the Jaguar Field softball complex, with upgrades set to be completed ahead of the 2026 season. The project is part of a larger initiative to revitalize Augusta Athletics facilities.
The updated softball facility will feature 225 chairback seats and a new top-mounted press box to improve the experience for fans, student-athletes, and media.
Additional upgrades include new batting cages designed in the same style as the recently renovated baseball cages. Branding on the concession stand, including an acrylic Augusta word mark, along with the installation of a statue of Augustus between the baseball and softball fields, will contribute to a more unified and polished look across the entire complex.
"We are so excited for the facility enhancements that have been planned for Jaguar Field and are thrilled to see the seating project get underway late this summer," said Head Coach
Melissa Brocato, who is entering her 28
th season. "It will help provide our team and fans with an excellent game day experience."
"We are thrilled our vision to enhance our softball facility is finally taking shape," added Director of Athletics
Ryan Erlacher. "Our softball student-athletes deserve a first-class facility that will elevate not only their experience, but the experience for those who support us. The upgrades to our softball stadium will be significant and will rival some of the best facilities throughout the southeast. This project enhances the commitment and investment into athletics from our campus leadership and we are extremely grateful for their continued support."
These improvements reflect Augusta University's ongoing investment in its softball program and its commitment to providing a first-class NCAA Division II environment.
