CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Augusta men's cross country team delivered an impressive performance Friday morning at the Queen City Invitational, placing third overall with 121 points and finishing as the fastest Division II program in the field. The Jaguars posted a team average of 25:36 over the 8K course and a spread of just one minute across their scoring five.

Nasrudin Mohamed led Augusta with an eighth-place finish in 25:08.4. He was followed closely by Andrew Helfers (14th, 25:32.4), Gabriel Best (16th, 25:34.6), and Caleb Darsey (19th, 25:38.9) as the Jaguars packed four runners inside the top 20. Freshman Eli Corn rounded out the scoring five at 26:09.2 (32nd).
Additional contributors included Francisco Palacios (36th, 26:22.6), Benjamin Hall (38th, 26:29.1), and Jackson Musto (49th, 26:45.5).

Augusta outpaced every other Division II opponent, including Fayetteville St. (5th, 191), Wingate (9th, 249), and Lenoir-Rhyne (14th, 397), establishing itself as one of the region's top teams early in the season.
The Jaguars return to action on Friday, Sept. 26, at the Bobcat Invitational in Milledgeville, Ga.
