Statesboro, Ga.- On a day when every team posted a high score, The Augusta women's golf team would finish in a tie for sixth place at The Southern at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga. on Tuesday. The Jaguars had the third best score of the day with
Sofia Valera coming in a tie for 15th. Eastern Michigan won the event in convincing fashion followed by Florida Gulf Coast and Georgia State.

FINAL INDIVIDUAL SCORING
Valera, a freshman from France, shot a 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday which was the eighth best individual score of the day. After being 4-over-par on her first nine holes, she turned things around with three birdies on her final nine holes. She did have a double bogey that accounted for her final score.
Puntita Pawichai carded a 78 and would finish in a tie for 17th place overall. She didn't make a birdie, but kept the damage to a minimum and finished with rounds of 74-75-78 for the event.
The third counting score on the day was turned in by
Sara Adams with a 79.
Jessica Pilgrim turned in the other counting score as she also shot 79.
Marine Legentil had a final round 80 for the non-team counting score on the afternoon.
Danielle Higbee, another newcomer to Augusta, played as an individual and shot a final round 78. Higbee had a couple of birdies on the day and finished in 26th place.
The Augusta women's golf team will next be in action Sept. 19-21 at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, S.C. and hosted by Furman.
