AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team earned a 4-0 victory over Lincoln Memorial on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at the Newman Tennis Center.
Augusta secured the doubles point with wins on two courts. Maria Gento and Andrea Gonzalez picked up a 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Priscilla Landi and Julieta Palma followed with a 7-5 win at No. 2. The No. 3 doubles match went to Lincoln Memorial.
The Jaguars carried that momentum into singles play, quickly clinching the match with three straight-set victories. Maria Gento earned a 6-2, 6-1 win, while Andrea Gonzalez followed with a 6-2, 6-2 decision. Giovanna Patrocinio added a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
Matches featuring Luciana Bejarano, Priscilla Landi, and Camila Taborga were left unfinished when the team result was decided.
Augusta improves to 5-6 overall on the season.
The Jaguars return to action on Tuesday, March 31 at Georgia Southwestern State in Peach Belt Conference play.
