COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Friday afternoon, falling 4-1 to No. 17 Flagler in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.

The Jaguars opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins on two courts. Andrea Gonzalez and Maria Gento battled to a 7-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Camila Taborga and Giovanna Patrocinio added a 7-5 win at No. 3. Flagler earned the win at No. 2 doubles, but Augusta carried a 1-0 lead into singles play.

Flagler answered in singles, winning four completed matches to secure the team result.

Luciana Bejarano picked up Augusta's lone singles victory with a strong 6-2, 6-1 win. Maria Gento fell in straight sets at No. 2 singles, while Priscilla Landi and Camila Taborga also dropped their matches.

The match at No. 1 singles featuring Andrea Gonzalez was left unfinished, as was the No. 6 singles contest involving Giovanna Patrocinio.

Augusta closes the season with a 7-11 overall record.
