Augusta University men's cross country concluded their 2024 season with an 18th-place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Sacramento, CA, scoring 528 points. Senior Jordan Robertson led the Jaguars, placing 32nd overall with a time of 30:19.7 - a performance which cemented him as the program's first All-American. Fellow senior, a PBC Runner of the Year, Avery Jaynes (85th, 31:12.5) followed along with Brandon Martin (139th, 31:42.3) followed. Sophomore Tripp Miller (166th, 31:58.9) and senior Patrick Motes (177th, 32:13.1) rounded out the scoring five. Sophomore Nasrudin Mohamed and freshman Ani Tesfaye also contributed. This marks Augusta's seventh national championship appearance.


2023 (Team Appearance)

Augusta University cross country finished the season with a 15th place finish with 484 points at the NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course. PBC Runner of the Year Avery Jaynes led AU with a time of 30:40.8 and a 56th place finish.Brandon Martin finished in 89th place, running his 10k in 31:02.4.Jordan Robertson (31:14.7) finished 107th. Patrick Motes crossed the line at 31:29.6. Senior Carlos Rodriguez turned in a solid time in his last Jaguar appearance, carding a 31:53.7. Thomas Rischar (31:59.6) finished 179th and Andrew Todd rounded out the Jaguar squad in 34:01.7.The appearance marked the sixth time Augusta men's cross country has participated at the national championships as a team.


2022 (Team Appearance)

The Augusta University men's cross country team finished 24th in the NCAA Division II national championship meet held on the Chambers Creek Regional Park on December 2nd in University Place, Washington. After snow and rain saturated the course and created muddy conditions, senior Hans Troyer led the Jaguars, finishing his 10k with a time of 31:26.8. PBC Runner of the Year Patrick Motes recorded a 10K time of 31:37.9. Kai Brickey finished his 10k in 34:41.5. Avery Jaynes and Carlos Rodriguez recorded times of 31:52.5 and 31:55.3, respectively to round out the scoring positions. 2022 marked the fifth team appearance at the NCAA National Championship. 


2021(Individual)

Augusta University junior Kai Brickey qualified as an individual for the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 20 and took 154th at the Abbey Golf XC Course in Saint Leo, Fl. Kai Brickey returned to the championship stage as individual after competing with his team at the 2019 NCAA Championships. Brickey crossed the finish line in 33:11.0 to wrap up his junior season. There were 245 total athletes in the 10k.

Augusta's ninth-place finish is tied for the best any PBC men's team has ever done at the NCAA nationals. The Jaguars placed four of their scoring runners in the top 75, finishing with 332 points. Jacob Poston led the Jaguars with a 48th-place finish in a time of 30:57.3.  Chase Kennedy was 10 spots behind with a time of 31:05.6 and Jacob Burgamy 77th in 31:19.4. Chandler Kennedy finished 86th in 31:26.0 and Kai Brickey rounded out the AU scoring runners in a time of 31:49.7.  Ranked 16th in the nation, Augusta made its fourth appearance ever at the NCAA Championships after going last season in 2013, 2017, and 2018.

The Augusta University men's cross country team raced at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday morning and finished the 10K in 28th place in Pittsburg, Pa. In their third appearance ever at the NCAA final stage, the Jaguars posted their second best team finish ever. Ranked 25th in the nation, Augusta made its third appearance ever at the NCAA Championships after going last season in 2017 and in 2013. Guided by the 2018 NCAA Southeast Region Coach of the Year, Adam Ward, the Jaguars finished with 682 points to beat Embry-Riddle, Florida Southern, Edinboro, UNC Pembroke, So. Conn State, and SNHU in the 32 field. Grand Valley State won the National Championship with 89 points, while CSU Pueblo's Marcelo Laguera won the individual race in 31:46.4. AU sophomore Hunter Kimball led the team and placed 55th overall in 33:52.7. Kimball's individual finish is the best by any Jaguar ever at the National Championships. Senior Noah Hulett capped off his four-year career with a 83rd-place finish in 34:21.6, sophomore Jacob Poston posted a time of 35:56.0 for 195th, and freshman Chandler Kennedy grabbed 230th in 36:45.6. Freshmen Joshua Seiden and Rakeem Littles rounded out the Jaguars with Seiden placing 238th (37:05.7) and Littles 258th(37:57.9). The top-40 finishers were named All-Americans.

For just the second time in school history, the Augusta University men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Championships and the Jaguars took 23rd out of 32 teams on Saturday morning at Angel Mounds State Park in Evansville, Indiana. The race was the final competition for Augusta seniors Dylan Forester and Joshua Thompson. Forester fought for 65th overall and led the Jaguars with a time of 32:22.9. AU junior Daniel Broadhead crossed the line in 33:17.9 to take 124th, Noah Hulett notched 146th (33:37.0), Jacob Poston 150th (33:46.1), and Thompson took 192nd (34:18.3). Hunter Kimball and David Perez-Santiago rounded out the Jags, with Kimball taking 218th (34:49.0) and Perez-Santiago 249th (37:58.8).

Augusta University junior Nick Del Guercio qualified as an individual for the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 21 and took 193rd at the Tom Rutledge XC Course on a cold Saturday. Nick Del Guercio returned to the championship stage after he and the Jags made it to the 2013 NCAA Championships. Del Guercio crossed the finish line in 32:41.4 to wrap up his junior season. There were a total of 246 athletes in the men's 10K.

The Jaguars represented Augusta University for the first time at an NCAA Championship competition ion Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at the Division II finals in Spokane, Wash., at the Plantes Ferry Athletic Complex. Augusta placed 31st in the field led by senior Jaiden Brandt. Brandt, who paced the Jags in all but one race on the year, led the team with a time of 31:44.5 for 67th place. Senior Dustin Ross crossed second for the Jags to take 165th in 33:05.7, sophomore Preston Jones took 207th in 33:49.1, junior Shane Huckeba finished in 34:16.0 for 220th, and freshman Nick Del Guercio finished 232nd in 34:38.4. Seniors Adam Aldridge and Matt Johnson closed out the Jags, with Aldridge grabbing 234th in 35:09.3 and Johnson 35:21.8 for 238th. The race was the last official NCAA sanctioned race for the four Jaguar seniors – Adam Aldridge, Jaiden Brandt, Matt Johnson, and Dustin Ross.

2012 (Individual Appearance)

Augusta junior Jaiden Brandt individually represented the Jaguars as the lone AU runner competing in the NCAA Championships Saturday, Nov. 17 in Joplin, Mo. Brandt, the first-ever championship qualifier for the men's cross country team, finished 83rd overall in the 10K event, hosted at Missouri Southern State, at 31:08.0. He crossed the line ahead of 162 other qualifiers.
