Mone Florence enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Augusta University women's basketball program in 2026-27 after serving as the Jaguars' graduate assistant during the 2025-26 season.
Florence helped Augusta capture the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship, the program's first conference tournament title in 33 years. During her season as a graduate assistant, she assisted with the day-to-day operations of the program while continuing her development in the coaching profession.
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Florence enjoyed a four-year playing career at Augusta from 2021-25. She appeared in 108 games, making 82 starts, and finished her career as one of the Jaguars' top perimeter threats.
As a senior, Florence averaged 9.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while leading the team with 50 steals and ranking second with 46 assists. She averaged 9.3 points per game as a junior while helping Augusta reach the NCAA Tournament. During her sophomore season, she averaged 7.9 points per game and led the team with 45 made three-pointers. As a freshman, she scored a season-high 17 points against USC Aiken, hitting the game-tying three-pointer to force overtime before knocking down another late three to secure the rivalry victory.
A native of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Florence graduated from Augusta in 2025. She was selected to participate in the nationwide So You Want To Be A Coach program in 2025, where student-athletes took part in workshops designed to provide an understanding of the skills needed to become a coach and the administrative side of the profession.
Florence attended Eagles Landing High School, where she lettered four years and was named Defensive Player of the Year. She played club basketball for Nike Team Elite Hubbard Dave.
