    Assistant Coach

Preston Joye is in his first season as an assistant baseball coach at Augusta University. He joins the Jaguars following a summer coaching stint with the Woodstock River Bandits of the Valley Collegiate Baseball League in Woodstock, Va., where he worked with infielders and baserunners.

Prior to his time with the River Bandits, Joye served as a graduate assistant at Division I Mercer University in Macon, Ga. While at Mercer, he assisted with day-to-day operations, on-field development, and recruiting efforts as he pursued his master's degree in organizational leadership.

Joye played collegiately as a middle infielder at Valdosta State University, where he helped guide the Blazers to NCAA Regional appearances in both 2022 and 2023. He earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Valdosta State before transitioning into coaching. Joye brings to Augusta a strong work ethic, high character, and expertise in infield defense and baserunning. His experience as both a Division I and Division II athlete and coach gives him a valuable perspective in developing student-athletes on and off the field.

A native of Valdosta, Ga., Joye is currently completing his master’s degree in organizational leadership at Mercer University.
