Richard Marte joined Augusta University Baseball as the program’s pitching coach ahead of the 2026 season. He arrives with a diverse background in player development at the collegiate, high school, and elite travel levels.
Most recently, Marte worked with WOW Factor Baseball, where he coached the 16U Nation and 15U National teams. In that role, he helped guide some of the country’s top-ranked prospects in national tournaments.
Marte began his collegiate playing career at College of the Albemarle in North Carolina before finishing at Paine College in Augusta. He also launched his coaching career at Paine, serving as pitching coach and contributing to the development of multiple all-conference pitchers and position players.
His experience includes six years as pitching coordinator with Compete Game, where he worked with athletes of all ages and helped several pitchers advance to the collegiate level.
Originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Marte credits his journey to God’s guidance and the support of his family and mentors. He is married and looks forward to helping elevate Augusta Baseball’s pitching staff with a focus on skill development, preparation, and character.
