-- Augusta State blanked Converse 3-0 in non-conference
action on Wednesday night in Spartanburg, S.C. With the victory,
ASU improved its record to 12-18, while the loss drops the
Valkyries to 2-20 overall.
ASU had no hitting errors in the first set and had a team hitting
percentage of .550.
Junior Jessica Howard led the Jaguars with a total of 11 kills and
a .580 hitting percentage. Also aiding in the win for the Jags was
senior Amy Hunt, who posted 11 kills, while junior Lindsey Weider
tallied 12 digs. Freshman setter Ashley Zappitell netted 19
assists.
The Jaguars return to play Thursday, Oct. 30, when they host Paine
for a non-conference match in Christenberry Fieldhouse. First serve
is slated for 7:00 p.m.
