Jaguars Fall In PBC Tournament

PEMBROKE, N.C. -- Augusta State dropped to USC Aiken 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in the first round of Peach Belt Conference Tournament play held at UNC Pembroke.

Junior Jessica Howard paced the Jaguars with 14 kills, while senior Amy Hunt posted a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Dianna Meyer also posted a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Freshman setter Ashley Zappitell netted 43 assists and junior Lindsey Weider notched 11 digs.

For the Pacers, senior Stefanie Durham posted a double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs. Freshman Theo Marshall added 13 kills, while senior Danielle Spice notched 12 digs. Junior Lauren Cedeno had 25 assist and junior Whitney Tabbert added 24 assists.

Augusta State ended their season with a record 14-21 overall.
