AUGUSTA, Ga. --
Augusta State dropped 3-1 to Armstrong Atlantic on Wednesday night
at the Christenberry Fieldhouse in Peach Belt Conference action.
With the loss, the Jaguars dropped to 13-19 on the year, while the
win advanced the Pirates to 21-6.
ASU opened the match with Military Appreciation night and the Jags
were supported by the largest audience of the season thus far.
Junior Jessica Howard paced the Jags with 15 kills and three block
solos. Freshman setter Ashley Zappitell posted a double-double with
40 assists and 13 digs, while freshman Jessica Hanson added 14
kills. Junior libero Lindsey Weider notched 16 digs and senior Amy
Hunt tallied 14 digs.
Freshman Torrie Bevolo led the Pirates with 16 kills and 20 digs.
Senior Rindy Vidovich added 14 kills and 15 digs, while junior
Gwendolyn Clark posted 12 kills. Sophomore setter Hannah Segebart
netted 51 assists and freshman Casey Howett had 21 digs.
The Jaguars return to play Friday Nov. 5, when they host USC Aiken
in Peach Belt Conference action at 7:00 p.m.
