CARROLLTON, Ga. --
West Georgia outscored Augusta State 47-21 in the second half and
posted a 76-51 non-conference victory over the Lady Jaguars
Wednesday in the HPE Building on the UWG campus.
With the loss, ASU dropped to 3-4 overall while the Lady Wolves
improved to 7-4.
Junior forward Nicole Mealing finished with 17 points and was the
only Lady Jaguar to reach double figures. Senior Tracey Paschal
netted nine points and eight rebounds.
Tia Jackson booked a game-high 19 points for UWG, while Dominic
Cranford and Ashley Huff managed 14 points each. Shunice Hardy
chipped in 10 points off the bench.
The Lady Jags, who led 30-29 at halftime, shot just 21.4 percent in
the second half and only 30.8 percent for the game. West Georgia
forced 23 turnovers and limited ASU to just three 3-pointers in the
contest.
The Lady Jags break for the holidays before facing Tampa on the
road on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 5:30 p.m.
