AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State takes on Paine
College in a non-conference doubleheader Saturday night in Carter
Gymnasium on the PC campus.
Game times are 6:00 p.m. for the women's matchup, with the
men's contest slated for an 8:00 p.m. tipoff.
The ASU women's squad is coming off a 75-54 loss at Newberry
on Wednesday. The Lady Jaguars have won six straight in the series
with Paine, including a 91-58 victory last season in Christenberry
Fieldhouse. ASU's last loss to the Lady Lions came in a 39-38
setback on Jan. 4, 2003 in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The fourth-ranked men's squad is looking for its fifth
straight win in the series. ASU head coach Dip Metress is 5-1
against the Lions in his first four years at the helm of the
Jaguars. Under Metress, the Jags are 26-12 in regular-season,
non-conference games, including 9-9 on the road. Over the last
two-plus seasons, ASU is 15-5 in non-conference contests away from
Christenberry Fieldhouse.
