GREENEVILLE, Tenn.
-- Augusta State (4-8) dropped a pair of matches on
Saturday in the second day of the Tusculum Classic.
The Jaguars fell 3-1 to West Alabama and then were edged 3-2 by
Tusculum.
In the first match against West Alabama, senior Amy Hunt posted a
double-double with 18 kills and 10 digs. Junior Lindsey Weider
added 15 digs, while freshman Ashley Zappitell notched 41
assists.
In the second match vs. the Pioneers, Hunt logged another
double-double with 14 kills and 18 digs, while junior Jessica
Howard led the team with 15 kills and six blocks. Zappitell tallied
43 assists and Weider had 20 digs.
The Jags return to action Tuesday, Sept. 16, when they host Fort
Valley State in their home opern at 7:00 p.m. in Christenberry
