Augusta State topped King 3-0 in the first day of play at Peach
Belt Conference/Conference Carolinas crossover tournament in
Savannah, Ga.
With the win, the Jaguars improved to 18-9 on the year, while King
dropped to 21-5 on the season.
Senior Jessica Howard paced ASU with 15 kills and six total blocks,
while sophomore Jessica Hanson tallied seven kills. Junior Dianna
Meyer notched 13 digs and had two service aces, and sophomore Lagi
Roberts added 12 digs. Sophomore setter Ashley Zappitell netted 31
assists, while senior libero Lindsey Weider booked 11 digs. Senior
Emily Joye posted five block assists and junior Chase Lowther had
three service aces.
The Jags wrap up the Peach Belt Conference/Conference Carolinas
crossover tournament Saturday with a pair of matches, the first at
11:00 a.m. against Pfeiffer, and the second against St. Andrews at
2:00 p.m.
